Beyond the push-and-pull

I so want to barge my way in

But I’m afraid in doing so

I might push you away.

I so want to connect with you

Mind, body, soul and spirit

To laugh, cry and share with you.

But I’m afraid in connecting,

I might lose you.

That you’ll end up hurting me

And probably me, you.

Love is patient they say

But it is also said that

Time waits for no man

And why wait?

When there’s that small chance

That what lies beyond the push

And pull could result in true love.

And then I am charge by the Songs of Songs

Daughter of Jerusalem!

Do not arouse or awaken love

Until it so desires. 🙂

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails. ( Cor. 13: 4-8a)
